Dr Mehrnoosh (Mez) Aref obtained her BA from the University of Cambridge in 2002, and MBBS from the University of London in 2005. Coming from a family of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, she has always been passionate about the specialty. Following experience in acute medicine, surgery and emergency medicine Mez commenced specialty training in obstetrics and gynaecology in 2007 in the UK.
Mez has trained in hospitals across London including Whipps Cross, Newham, Queens and the Royal Free, which cover large and ethnically diverse populations. Mez became a member of the UK Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in 2012. In 2016 she completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Obstetrics & Gynaecology Ultrasound.
Mez has come from the UK to expand her special interest in Minimally Invasive Surgery working under Dr Alex Ades, Dr Kenneth Leong and Dr Philip Thomas for a twelve month fellowship.
Mez is passionate about teaching and learning has done voluntary work in teaching in Nigeria and Sudan. She has moved to Melbourne with her husband and 2 children who are all very excited to be living in Australia.
