Dr Sneha Parghi

MBBS (University of Adelaide), FRANZCOG

Dr Sneha Parghi is a Specialist Gynaecologist practicing at the AGORA Specialist Centre. She consults at Frances Perry House and Epworth Richmond, and has operating and admitting rights at Frances Perry House. She also holds a public appointment as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s at Sunshine Hospital.

Sneha is a Member and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 2006. She worked to obtain a wide range of clinical experiences in Emergency departments, General Medicine and Intensive Care before finally admitting her passion for Obstetrics & Gynaecology and pursuing her speciality training with the RANZCOG in 2011.

Sneha has worked in Brisbane at the Mater Mother’s, Logan and Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospitals, and in Melbourne at the Royal Women’s, Northern and Sunshine Hospitals. She completed her rural rotation at the Bendigo Base Hospital. During her time in Brisbane, she held a position as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland.

Sneha spent her final years of training advancing her skills in advanced laparoscopic surgery and completed AGORA’s twelve month fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery working under A/Prof Alex Ades, Dr Kenneth Leong and Dr Philip Thomas.

Sneha is an active researcher in the field of gynaecology. Her most recent publication was with Associate Professor Alex Ades and Dr Mehrnoosh Aref-Adib, on the pregnancy outcomes of 121 laparoscopic transabdominal cerclages, published in the Australian Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2018.

Sneha is a mentor for O&G trainees and medical students and is actively involved in teaching them at Sunshine Hospital.

Sneha is passionate about international health and has worked with Medecins Sans Frontieres in Haiti after the earthquake in 2010. She found this a challenging but incredibly rewarding experience and hopes to do further work in the humanitarian field in the future.

As a female gynaecologist, and a mother of two, Sneha believes in providing supportive care in an open and honest manner. She will ensure you are cared for and listened to so that you can make an informed decision.
