A/Prof Marcos Perini

A/Prof Marcos Perini is accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) with extensive international and national training and recognition in liver, bile ducts, gallbladder and pancreas surgery.

He is an Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) and Liver Transplant surgeon at Austin Hospital and an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Melbourne.

He has dedicated most of his life treating patients with benign and malignant diseases of the liver, bile duct (gallbladder) and pancreas by open or minimally invasive surgery.  He has performed numerous surgeries in the Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary field, over two hundred liver transplants, countless liver surgeries and pancreatic cancer resections, including major vascular reconstructions and multiorgan resections. These complex surgeries demand great expertise, a multidisciplinary approach, and technical skills to achieve good outcomes.

A/Prof Perini also performs laparoscopic surgeries such as abdominal wall and groin hernias, cholecystectomies, and appendicectomies. He is highly committed with patient care and always seeks for a personalised approach to best address each patient's needs.

A/Prof Marcos Perini holds a Masters and a PhD in Science and has been responsible for supervising many PhD candidates at The University of Melbourne and training young surgeons at the Department of Surgery, Austin Hospital.

He published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles in international scientific journals, over twenty book chapters and has been invited to lecture at many international conferences and congresses in recognition of his expertise.
