Dr Reema Kohli

Dr Reema Kohli is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology accredited by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, with special interest in the management of pelvic floor disorders.

She believes in ensuring personalized care for her patients by focusing on informed and shared decision making and keeping her patients wishes at the core of her practice.

During initial years of her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, she worked at the largest and busiest tertiary hospitals in Delhi. She briefly worked as a board certified specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in India.

She was also awarded the membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK in 2018

After moving to Australia she worked as a Senior Registrar in Boxhill and Angliss Hospitals in Victoria before achieving FRANZCOG. To pursue her interest in management of pelvic floor disorders, she spent an additional year of training in Urogynaecology at Gold Coast University Hospital, Varsity Lakes and Robina Hospitals in Queensland. Working with an excellent team of Urogynaecologists headed by Dr Malcolm Frazer helped her learn specialized techniques of pelvic floor surgery. Reema has also worked under apprenticeship of Dr RK Mishra, a pioneer in  advanced laparoscopy in India to hone her skills in pelvic floor surgery/ endoscopy.

Reema has presented her research on predictors of fetal growth restriction and new techniques to better visualise urinary tract in laparoscopy at various National and International conferences.

Reema has been actively  involved in teaching  medical students at Griffith University in Gold Coast. In addition to her role as a Consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecology at AGORA, she will engage in teaching medical students at Epworth Clinical School and participating in research in women's health with A/ Prof Alex Ades. She is also an Examiner on the  RANZCOG Board of Examiners for Obstetrics and Gynaecology trainees. She has public appointments as a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Eastern Health and Royal Women’s Hospital and participates in teaching of specialists in training at these hospitals.

When not working Reema loves to paint and travel with her husband who has been a GP for 10 years and is now pursuing specialist training in Pain Medicine. She works with multiple media on canvas and is now learning the ancient Indian art of Tanjore painting.

In addition to English, she is fluent in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi.
